As part of my work at Hester Street, I led the team working on the Radical Imagination for Racial Justice Initiative, which provides grants and technical assistance to community-based organizations that use placemaking, arts and culture, and community engagement to advance racial and environmental justice in New York City and Puerto Rico. In the 3 years of the initiative, I managed and supported technical assistance for grants to build community solar networks in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and Hunts Point in the Bronx, to expand access to green space in Washington Heights and Williamsburg, and support local cultural and environmental preservation efforts in San Antón, Carolina, Puerto Rico, and in the Rockaway communities of Queens, including Riis Beach.
